Women have made many important discoveries in science and mathematics, but for a long time, they did not receive the credit they deserved. In the mid-19th and 20th century, society did not treat female scientists equally, making it hard for them to share their work or be recognized for their achievements. Many women were not allowed to join scientific groups, publish their research, or receive awards for their discoveries. Instead, their work was often ignored or credited to men. Even though they faced these challenges, many women made important contributions that helped shape science.
